Abstract

The gene therapy era has brought with it a new set of chromatography yield and operational challenges. Over-molded tubing connections and near dead-leg free valve blocks reduce turbulence, preserving gradient integrity before the column and peak to peak resolution after the column. Quattroflow® pumps and flow path optimization can abate shear stress and increase bioactivity. A case study on the positive impact on process yield and output will be discussed.

Julie Grace joined the Repligen team in November 2021 as the Senior Director of Global Field Applications, managing both upstream and downstream field scientists. She earned a B.Sc. in Marine Biology from the University of New England, and a M.Sc. in Biology as well as a graduate certificate in Biotechnology/Bioprocessing from the University of Massachusetts. She recently also completed the CORe program at Harvard Business School. Julie has over 20 years’ experience working in the biological sciences, primarily focused on purification development and biologics manufacturing from both the vendor and customer sides. She has worked with bench scale equipment up through large scale SS and SU skids including both batch and continuous processing.
