We understand your unique research, process development, and manufacturing work requires tailored solutions. That's why we are pleased to offer two light source options for use with the CTech™ FlowVPX® System. The FlowVPX System plays a crucial role in your process optimization and control. It provides real-time results with unprecedented speed, enabling you to gather a greater number of quality data points for higher accuracy compared to off-line methods. The choice of light source allows for further optimization and even stronger process control.

Our compact single-wavelength light source and multiwavelength spectrophotometer are designed to be compatible with the FlowVPX System and interchangeable with one another. This flexibility allows you to scale your project and seamlessly transitions between the two as your proven applications progress towards commercialization. Rest assured that at every stage of your development, we have you covered.

Single Wavelength Light Source: Easy-to-Use GMP Solution

The CTech™ Beams™ single-wavelength LED light source is a reliable and efficient option for applications where a specific wavelength has already been established and proven effective. With a simplified design and user-friendly interface, this light source is perfect for manufacturing biologics, where consistency and precision are crucial. Its benefits include:

  • Proven performance: Designed specifically for established applications at 260 nm or 280 nm, the single-wavelength light source ensures accurate and repeatable measurements that meet the highest industry standards.
  • Easy integration: The compact size of our single-wavelength light source makes it easy to integrate the FlowVPX System into any manufacturing environment without sacrificing valuable space or user-friendliness.
  • GMP-ready design: With an IP65 and C1D2 rating, the FlowVPX System with Beams light source drives towards GMP readiness. The FlowVPX System is available with ViPER SecureVPT Software, specifically designed to support compliance with 21 CFR Part 11. Additionally, for USP/EP/JP compliance, we have mapped out the qualification parallels of the FlowVPX with Beams System to the industry standards in our technical note:CTech Beams System Qualification and Pharmacopeia Compliance.

The CTech Beams LED light source is a single-beam instrument that delivers precise and concentrated light and is ideal for wavelength-specific applications. It comes in 260 nm, 272 nm, 280 nm, and 310 nm as single wavelengths.

Multiwavelength Spectrophotometer: Empowering Process Development

The Cary 60 UV-Vis spectrophotometer is a double-beam instrument with a powerful xenon lamp. It has a wavelength range of 190–1100 nm that can be scanned in under three seconds.

For applications that demand versatility and flexibility, the FlowVPX System connected with the Agilent Cary 60 UV-Vis spectrophotometer offers a wide range of capabilities. It is the perfect choice for process development, research laboratories, and industries exploring more efficient avenues for concentration determination in real time. Here's why you should consider our multiwavelength spectrophotometer:

  • Broad wavelength range: Our multiwavelength spectrophotometer allows you to analyze a wide range of wavelengths (190 nm to 1100 nm), empowering you to explore different applications and adapt to evolving research needs.
  • Research-driven flexibility: The multiwavelength spectrophotometer gives you the freedom to customize experiments, optimize processes, and delve into new research areas, unlocking endless possibilities.

Complete Confidence Regardless of Your Choice

We recognize that your needs are unique. Whether you require a compact, single-wavelength light source for proven applications or a multiwavelength spectrophotometer for process development, we have the solution that best suits you.

During testing, we evaluated the FlowVPX System with Cary 60 and FlowVPX System with Beams light source, focusing on high concentrations and conditions where concentrations change rapidly.

Comparability was demonstrated between the FlowVPX System using the Beams light source and the FlowVPX System using the Cary 60 as its light source. Findings revealed that both systems yield highly consistent results when compared to the at-line CTech™ SoloVPE® System.

Here we demonstrate the real-time concentration readings achieved by FlowVPX with Beams, showcasing the similarity to data obtained using FlowVPX with Cary 60, and finally compared to the at-line SoloVPE System, spanning a broad concentration range from 6 mg/ml to nearly 160 mg/ml of a monoclonal antibody.

Our data showcases the VPT platform's consistent, accurate, and reproducible results, regardless of the light source or placement (in-line/at-line). The VPT platform is the ideal choice to fulfill all your UV-Vis spectroscopy requirements from development to manufacturing.
